On the floor of the Chamber's entrance hall is displayed a mosaic of the city's coat of arms with St. Mungo, Glasgow's patron saint, atop four symbols reflecting the legends surrounding him, namely the wee Robin which Mungo brought back to life, the tree whose branch was set alight by his touch to rekindle a fire he had negligently allowed to go out and the bell he brought back from Rome. Finally there is the story attached to the ring appearing in the fish's mouth. Well why not make a point of hearing the quaint wee story when you visit to see the opulent splendour reflecting Glasgow's status in the Victorian world.
Opening Hours: Tours are conducted twice daily at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Booking is not essential unless in a group.
