Prestwick Golf Club, the birthplace of the British Open Championship, welcomes all golfers from around the world to come and enjoy their testing historic stretch of links golfing terrain. The sense of history at the club is ever present; this is hallowed ground for the ardent golfer.
The first hole at Prestwick is one of the most daunting starters in links golf, notwithstanding an audience in the clubhouse a few metres away. Will you be up to up? Imagine a narrow strip of fairway bordering a railway line. A sliced duff shot would be more than an embarrassment; you would be the talk of the town for the day!
Rich in character, the famous clubhouse is as much part of the Prestwick experience as the celebrated course. Prized golfing memorabilia adorn aged wood-panelled walls with infectious laughter wafting through the corridors. Here history brushes shoulders with unreserved fun and love of the game.
Opening Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays: 2 ball Play only between 8am and 9am. Wednesdays & Fridays 4 ball play is permitted between 8.15am and 9.15am as part of the Prestwick Experience. Fourball play is permitted at other times.
