Holyrood has been the home of Scotland's democracy since 2004 after nearly 300 years. You can experience this democracy in action by, sitting in on First Minister’s Questions (FMQs) each Thursday, watching MSPs debate in the Debating Chamber or attend any of the public committee meetings.
Alternatively take one of the free tours to discover the history, architecture, art, and work of the Scottish Parliament. Each tour lasts 1 hour. Booking in advance is advised. Should you be wishing to pack in as much as possible when visiting Edinburgh consider the 10-minute public talks to learn more about the Scottish Parliament.
There is even a Literature Tour which explores the language and writing associated with the Parliament and the landscape which inspired the design of the award-winning Parliament building.
